Jouita “Jo” Lynn (Brown) Orozco went to be with the Lord on the morning of March 3rd , 2024,
surrounded by her loved ones. She was 71 years old.
Born to Chester and Dorothy (Decorah) Brown on August 20 th , 1952, Jo grew up in Black River
Falls, Wisconsin, with her two siblings, LaVerda and Ritchie, and graduated from Black River
Falls High School in 1968.
Jo married her first husband, Danny Harmer, and together they had one son, Garrett Harmer,
before later separating. Jo met her one true love, David Orozco, in Black River and together
they had three children, Michael, Lacey, and Amanda. David and Jo spent many wonderful
years together and shared many great memories.
Although Jo held various jobs throughout her life, her family remembers her best as a
homemaker who loved going shopping, reading her Bible, and doing word puzzles. Always a
free spirit with a love of spontaneity, every day with Jo was different and she never turned down
an opportunity to cruise the open road or go fishing.
She is survived by her sister LaVerda Richter and brother Ritchie Brown, daughters Lacey and
Amanda, her grandchildren Zoe Carter, David Orozco, Jayla Orozco, and Zeno Orozco, and
many loving friends and relatives.
Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Dorothy, her beloved partner David
Orozco, and her two sons Garrett Harmer and Michael Orozco.
A memorial service will be held at the Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, on
Friday, March 8 th . Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. to be followed by a memorial service at 11:00
a.m. Burial will take place immediately after at the Decorah Cemetery. Pastor Ken Jordan to
officiate.
Jo will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
