We are heartbroken to say: Kathi Jean Dillon passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2023
Kathi (Kat) was born May 28, 1961 to Karen and Jules Buchholz Jr. in Milwaukee, WI.
They moved to Osseo where Kathi attended grade school until 4 th grade when the Van Meter family
moved to Alaska. She graduated from Skagway High School in 1979. She moved to Seattle, graduated
from the University of Washington and married Ray Pedersen. They welcomed Dylan and Samantha. Ray
and Kathi later divorced. Kathi then married Charles Dillon and they later divorced.
Kat enjoyed the simple things; lake time in the Summer, annual trips in the Fall, following the Iditarod in
the Winter, and watching Winter turn into Spring.
She was currently employed at Xcel Energy. She loved her job and her co-workers were like family to her.
We are so thankful to have had Kathi in our lives. Her wickedly hilarious sense of humor and level of
sarcasm were unmatched, She will remain in our hearts forever.
Kathi is survived by her mother, Karen Swanson; son, Dylan; daughter, Samantha; step-children, Derek
and Dane Pedersen and Tevin and Joey Dillon; grandchildren, Prestenn, Paytenn, and Maddalynn; sisters,
Lori (Michael) Sulser, Crystal (Steve) Byelick, and Jackie; nephew, Aaron; and great nephew, Skyler; and
her Yorkie, Woots, and numerous other family members and friends.
Preceding her in death and welcoming her home are her father, Jules Buchholz; her stepfather, Norman
Van Meter; and twin godsons Jackson and Kristian Kittelson.

County Road B outside Osseo. Pastor Dave Christianson will officiate. Friends may call on the family
during a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM. A celebration of life to share both tears
and laughter will be at the 7 th St. Pub in Osseo at 2 PM.
