The La Crosse Fire Department and the Children’s Museum of La Crosse will host a Fire Safety Event this Saturday, April 29 from 9am to 3pm.

The La Crosse Fire Department stresses that it’s never too early to teach children about fire safety. Being prepared for emergencies is vital to saving the lives of yourself and your loved ones.

General Admission to the Museum on Saturday will include an exciting day with the LCFD firefighters, learning about fire safety. It’s learning and fun, rolled into one, with critical life skills at stake.

This event will include a Guess the Gear station, allowing children the opportunity to familiarize themselves with gear our firefighters use every day; a Get Low & Go station that educates and emphasizes the importance of an emergency exit plan as well as the safest way to execute said plan; and an Ask Sparky station allowing children the chance to learn and ask questions regarding fire safety from Sparky, our fire safety friend. Lastly, the LCFD will have its safety trailer just outside the Children’s Museum, giving families the chance to practice their fire safety skills.
