LA CROSSE, WI – April 27, 2023
The GROW Spring Plant Sale will help gardeners get ready for the growing season while raising funds to support garden-based learning opportunities for area youth.
The sale will be open at the GROW Greenhouse on the WTC Campus, 624 Vine Street, Friday, May 5th from 10am to 6pm, Saturday, May 6th from 9am to 3pm and Sunday, May 7th from 10am to 1pm or while supplies last.
Growers will be able to purchase a variety of vegetable plants and flowers to get their gardens started. There will also be a limited number of house plants. All of the profits from the event will go directly to GROW’s garden-based educational programming.
GROW provides garden education at nine area schools, greenhouse and farm experiences, summer Open Garden events and the Kids Cooking Challenge Series. The nonprofit is focused on teaching youth about making healthy food choices through hands-on seed to table learning experiences.
“The plant sale is a great way to engage the community in the act of growing while supporting the positive health impacts garden education has on the youth in our region. The funds raised through the plant sale directly benefit the youth served through the hands-on seed to table learning our programs provide.” stated Bonnie Martin, GROW’s Director of Communication and Outreach.
