LaVern Eleanor Blazek

LaVern Eleanor Blazek, age 88, of Alma Center, WI passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Black River Falls Memorial Hospital.

LaVern Eleanor (Rochester) Blazek entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August
18 th , surrounded by her loved ones. LaVern was born on August 6 th , 1938 in Black
River Falls to Elmer & Nettie Rochester. LaVern was one of ten children, and
family was the most precious gift to LaVern. She loved being surrounded by her
children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The more babies she could love
on and rock the bigger her smile was.
LaVern also had passions for gardening – both vegetable & flower, feeding and
watching the birds, enjoying a cup of coffee and cookies with friends and family.
She was an avid baker of pies and cinnamon rolls. Often a dispute among siblings
of who was going to get the last slice! Any outing was an adventure for LaVern,
she enjoyed meeting new people and connecting with her friends and family. She
loved to visit places of her past years growing up and sharing stories along the
way.
On October 6 th , 1956, LaVern married Anton Blazek Sr. They built their forever
home in the Merrillan area. From their union, they were blessed with five
children; Anton Jr., Gerald, Susan, Randy and Rodney. They had an active life with
family and friends and many stories could be shared.
She is survived by her children: Gerald (Patti) Blazek, Susan (Frank) Werlein,
Rodney (Mary) Blazek, and daughter-in-law Vickie Blazek, 15 grandchildren and 40
great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Louise Schlintz, and
Sister-in-law LuAnn Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anton Blazek Sr., sons; Anton Jr. and
Randy, brothers; Don Rochester, Bob Rochester, Louis Rochester, sisters; Mabel
Lambert, Loretta Stetzer, Geraldine Gilbertson, Diane Demaske, and Beverly
Rochester, along with other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Grace Lutheran Church in Alma Center, WI with Pastor Gary Paul officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls. A visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Torgerson Funeral Home, Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
