If you turn on your NOAA Weather Radio this Monday through Wednesday, you’ll most likely hear dead-air. That’s because the National Weather Service in La Crosse is performing a scheduled upgrade to its computer system during that time. Forecast and warning services will continue via backup offices, with no expected disruption to weather alerts. However, NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts from 10 regional transmitters—including Black River Falls, Tomah, Withee, La Crescent, and Winona—will be offline during the update. Service is expected to resume on Wednesday. You can always stay informed and weather aware, right here, on WWIS, through weather apps, or at weather.gov/lacrosse.
