The National Weather Service has confirmed three tornadoes touched down in Clark County Thursday afternoon. The strongest, an EF2, struck near Colby around 5:20, packing winds up to 120 miles per hour. It damaged several outbuildings, toppled power poles, and tore the roof off a home before hitting the southeastern edge of town, where it damaged a car dealership. About 30-minutes earlier, an EF1 tornado briefly touched down near Christie, snapping large trees, while an EF0 twister tracked for over two miles between Christie and Loyal, damaging a farm building and several trees. At least one tornado touched down in Dodge County causing significant damage around the towns of Juneau and Mayville. The sheriff’s office there says one person was hospitalized in the aftermath of the storms, and minor injuries have been reported to emergency personnel. No fatalities were reported.
