Lois Jean (Peterson) Johnson, 79, of Black River Falls, Wisconsin formerly of Alma Center passed away on Monday morning August 24th, 2020 at Pine View Terrace in Black River Falls under the care of hospice.
She was born on September 9th, 1940 to Arthur and Angeline (Sleeter) Peterson in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. She attended the Tindahl School until 7th grade and graduated from the Fairchild High School in 1958.
Lois married Kenneth Johnson, Sr. on June 28th, 1958 in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Osseo, Wisconsin, they were together until his passing on November 12th, 2002.
She spent 38 years of her life working as a certified nurse’s aid. After that she went on to operate the Johnson’s Adult Family Home in Alma Center for 10 years.
Lois’s faith in God was very strong and she loved every moment she could be with her family and friends. With a big smile she always had something to tell you about one of her grandchildren or great-grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, travelling, going out to eat and an occasional trip to the casino.
Lois is survived by two sons; Dennis Johnson of Altoona and Jeff Johnson of Strum, one daughter; Teresa Kniseley of Taylor, one daughter-in-law; Lisa Johnson of Independence, one sister; Judy Maassen of Whitehall, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Kenneth, son; Ken Jr “Jumbo”, daughter; Cheryl Rawson, her parents, brothers; Ronnie, Bob, and Melvin, sisters; Pauline, Phyllis, Theo, Karen, Ann, and Betty, and grandchildren; Chris Johnson, Nicole Johnson, and Katie Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Cowles Officiating at the Family Worship Assembly of God, County Highway A, Black River Falls with visitation one-hour prior at 10:00 a.m. to the services with a luncheon to follow the service. Burial will be at Upper Pigeon Creek in Northfield at 2:00 p.m.
