(Madison, WI) — Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes Conway and two leaders of the city’s Common Council are speaking out against vandalism at former councilmember Gary Halverson’s home. Halverson has resigned from the Common Council following reports he was briefly a member of the Oath Keepers, a far-right organization being investigated for its involvement in the January 6th attack on the U-S Capitol. Halverson says he thought the group supported veterans and he joined by mistake. W-I-S-C/T-V reports that he says he resigned from the council due to the stress caused by graffiti left outside his family’s home.
