There’s a new coaching era ahead for Tiger Cross Country. The program has announced Jarod Meyer and Kate Ahl as co-head coaches. They take the reins from longtime head coach Steve Markee, who leaves behind a strong legacy of dedication and success. Meyer and Ahl will be joined by a solid staff, including veteran varsity assistant Paul Rykken, along with Mike Shepard and Eli Youngthunder, who’ll continue working with middle school runners. Tiger Cross Country competes in the always-tough Coulee Conference and serves athletes in grades 6 through 12, with varsity runners training for 5Ks and middle schoolers for 3Ks. A “meet and greet” for runners and families is set for Monday, June 30th at 6 p.m. at the Upper Shelter in Lunda Park. Coaches will discuss the upcoming season, summer training, and expectations. Coaches Meyer and Ahl say they’re always looking for young people interested in taking on the challenge.
