A plan released by the Monroe County Health Department aims to improve the county’s health. Three goals of the Community Health Improvement Plan, or CHIP, hope to address Mental health, Alcohol and other drug misuse, and Safe and affordable housing. According to Monroe County’s Health Department Director, Tiffany Giesler, the CHIP includes objectives and a list of possible strategies to address the issues. She encourages all residents to use CHIP as a guide for improving the area’s health. Anyone interested in joining a workgroup is welcome to contact the Health Department.
