Grab some popcorn and relive some of Hollywood’s most magical moments with the Eau Claire Municipal Band. Eau Claire’s longest-performing community band will feature the works of John Williams at 7:30 p.m. on MONDAY, JUNE 19, at the historic Donald “Sarge” Boyd bandshell in Owen Park.

Williams is perhaps the most recognized of all living American composers with his music being associated with some of the most successful movies of all time. Among his songs the band will perform include “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Jurassic Park,” “Superman” and “The Empire Strikes Back” from the “Star Wars” franchise.

“The concert should be very entertaining and enjoyable for the audience, as they will easily recognize songs from a number of popular films,” conductor Bob Baldwin said.

Municipal band concerts are free to the public and feature patriotic marches, popular show tunes and classical favorites. The family-friendly concerts also include a children’s “march,” where children in the audience select from an assortment of toy instruments, and then parade through the crowd while accompanying the band.

Nonprofit organizations also are invited to take turns hosting concessions during the concerts as a fundraiser. To coordinate dates or follow concert updates, organizations and the public can visit the band’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ecmunicipalband.
