State lawmakers are again honoring local heroes through the annual First Responder of the Year awards. Each Assembly district will recognize a police officer, firefighter, or EMS professional during a ceremony at the State Capitol October 14th. Nominations are open now and due by Friday, September 19th. Community members can nominate first responders for a heroic act, career achievements, community service, or years of dedication. Forms are available online through your assembly representative’s website and can be submitted digitally.
