The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports two separate stolen vehicle arrests in recent days. On Friday, August 15th, deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle entering the county on Interstate 94 near Northfield. A deputy later located the vehicle in the Town of Brockway and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, 39-year-old Jamila Troop of Hudson, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Jackson County Jail on felony charges. Then, on Tuesday, August 19th, deputies were notified by the FLOCK automated license plate reader system of another stolen vehicle, this one spotted at a gas station in Black River Falls. Deputies made contact with 53-year-old Truedicha Jones of Fairburn, Georgia. Investigators say Jones admitted to operating the stolen vehicle and was also booked on felony charges. Authorities remind the public that both Troop and Jones are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
