There’s a chief in town and he’s at the helm of the Black River Falls Fire Department. The City of Black River Falls and the Rural Fire Board announced, Friday, Mark Nordahl as the new Chief of the Black River Falls Fire Department. Chief Nordahl, a lifelong resident of Black River Falls, brings over two decades of experience to the role. He has served as 2nd Assistant Chief and is a certified EMT. Known for his leadership in emergencies and community outreach—including organizing the department’s annual car show—Nordahl was selected after a thorough hiring process that included five applicants and three finalists. Pending a routine physical and drug screening, Nordahl will officially step into the position. City Administrator Brad Chown praised the new chief, saying Nordahl’s deep community roots and dedication to professional growth make him an excellent fit to lead the department.
