Three Brookfield residents are facing serious charges in a large-scale odometer fraud scheme. The Wisconsin DOJ says 53-year-old Marvin Reed Trotter, 55-year-old Nycole Cavins, and 27-year-old Marvel S. Trotter allegedly bought used cars on Facebook Marketplace, rolled back odometers, altered titles, and resold the vehicles…again on Facebook Marketplace…at inflated prices. Investigators uncovered 70 vehicles with odometer discrepancies—totaling an estimated 4.5 million miles removed. Attorney General Josh Kaul called the alleged scheme “unacceptable.” A preliminary hearing for two of the defendants is set for April 14th, Waukesha County.
