Nekoosa hosts two big Lottery wins in last six days
MADISON, Wis. — A Wisconsin Lottery player made history on Wednesday after winning the largest Fast Play Progressive Jackpot since the games debuted on April 23 this year.The lucky player won 100% of the $403,497 Progressive Jackpot by purchasing a winning $10 Platinum Payout ticket at Bread and Butter Shop on 100 Market St. in Nekoosa.
Trista, a Bread and Butter Shop clerk said, “We’re hoping the winner is a local resident. Fast Play has been a great addition to the mix of games available.”
Unlike other lotto games, the Fast Play Progressive Jackpot can be won as soon as a ticket is purchased. The amount of the Progressive Jackpot won depends on the ticket price purchased by the player – $1 tickets win 10% of the Progressive Jackpot, $2 tickets win 20%, $5 tickets win 50%, and $10 tickets win 100%.The city of Nekoosa has been a Lottery hot spot in the last six days. In addition to the record-breaking Fast Play Progressive Jackpot sold at the Bread and Butter Shop, a $98,000 Badger 5 jackpot was split between winning tickets purchased at Citgo Super Sales in Grafton and Party Connection in Nekoosa for the July 21 drawing.
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.The odds of winning the Fast Play Progressive Jackpot are 1 in 240,000, while the odds of winning a Badger 5 jackpot, a Wisconsin-only lotto game, are 1 in 169,911.
