On Saturday, just before 2am, the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call. The caller said that there had been a drive by shooting. The shooting occurred at the 100 block of South Third Street in La Crosse. At least six people are reported to have non life threatening injuries. The LaCrosse Police Department stated in a news release they have arrested a Rochester Minnesota Man in the case.
32 year old Deandrew S. Grant has been arrested without incident. Officers have recovered a vehicle and the handgun used in this crime. At this time, it is believed that Grant acted alone and there is no further danger to the public. Deandrew Grant is charged with six counts of attempted 1st degree reckless homicide as well as a bail jumping charge.
In a news release, the LaCrosse Police Department thanked all who helped, stating “The LaCrosse Police Department would like to thank the LaCrosse County Sheriff’s Department, the Onalaska Police Department, Campbell Police Department, UW-LaCrosse Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, La Crosse Fire Department and the Tri-State Ambulance for their quick response and assistance during this chaotic critical incident.”
