The Tomah VA Medical Center will host a Memorial Day ceremony and outreach event on Friday, May 23, from 10 a.m. to noon, in front of Building 400 on its campus. All Veterans and members of the public are invited to attend.

The ceremony will honor those who gave their lives in military service and will feature:

A keynote address

Performances by students from N-Gage Academy, Necedah Area Schools, and the Tomah High School Band

A presentation of colors by the Volk Field Honor Guard

Military honors from Tomah VFW Post 1382

A performance of Taps by a Tomah High School Band member

Executive Director Karen Long says Memorial Day is a deeply meaningful time to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by U.S. service members.

Following the ceremony:

Custard will be served, courtesy of Culver’s of Tomah

Visitors may honor fallen loved ones by placing their names on the Memorial Day Tree

Information tables will offer details on VA care and resources

The Tomah VA encourages all to attend and remember the heroes who gave everything for their country.
