The Tomah VA Medical Center will host a Drug Take Back Day this Saturday, October 24th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will take place outside Building 400 at the Urgent Care entrance, located at 500 East Veterans Street in Tomah. The event is open to the public, and residents can anonymously drop off unwanted or expired prescription medications, including pills, tablets and capsules.
Tomah VA Police will ensure the medications are safely disposed of. Needles and other sharps will not be accepted.
Organizers say the event aims to help prevent prescription drug misuse, accidental poisonings and opioid-related overdoses in the community.
