Wisconsin Legislators are sounding off regarding the recently passed Wisconsin State budget. Wisconsin’s 31st District Senator Jeff Smith applauded Governor Evers use of the veto pen saying the Governor vetoed a tax break for the wealthy while retaining tax breaks for middle- and low-income Wisconsinites. Meanwhile, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos claims Evers’s vetoes eliminated tax cuts for all married taxpayers making more than $36-thousand and all single filers’ earning more than $27-thousand. The newly signed stated budget also allows schools to increase per pupil spending by $325 each year, for the next 400 years. The original budget allowed the increase through the 2024-25 school year.
