A new partnership is making it easier for Wisconsinites to visit state parks and forests. Under the plan, residents will be able to purchase a 12-month state park and forest vehicle admission pass while renewing their vehicle registration through the state DMV. Officials say the change streamlines services, reduces paperwork, and encourages more year-round use of Wisconsin’s outdoor spaces. The Department of Transportation and Department of Natural Resources say the option will be available online and at DMV locations, with passes and registration materials mailed together in a single package. State officials say the effort builds on recent legislation making park passes valid for 12 months from purchase, and is designed to boost access while supporting conservation funding and state tourism.
