Wisconsin’s job market remained strong in June.

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reports more than 3 million people were employed across the state, an increase of 6,000 from May and more than 16,000 higher than a year ago.

The state’s labor force participation rate rose to 64.5 percent, well above the national rate of 61.5 percent.

Wisconsin also added 2,400 nonfarm jobs during the month, bringing the statewide total to just over 3 million jobs.

The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dipped to 3.3 percent in June, compared with the national unemployment rate of 4.2 percent.
