(Orlando, FL) — A television reporter from Wisconsin is getting national attention for wading into Florida floodwaters Wednesday and carrying a nurse on his back through waist-deep water to safety. Tony Atkins now works for W-E-S-H/T-V in Orlando. He was on assignment when he saw the woman’s car get trapped. She was waving and asking for help. Atkins says she was able to climb out through the window and he thought it would be best to carry her on his back. The woman’s daughter contacted him and told Atkins her mom made it to her job thanks to him.
