(Green Bay, WI) — A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by the family of a man shot to death by a Fox Valley Metro police officer. Eduard Lopez was fatally wounded in September 2019 when witnesses say he drove his vehicle toward law enforcement officers following a police pursuit. W-L-U-K/T-V reports the judge determined the actions of Officer Sam Pyneberg were justified and no criminal charges were warranted. The suit was dismissed with prejudice – meaning it can’t be refiled in the future. The family claimed the officer used excessive force and that Lopez’s constitutional rights were violated.
