The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man at the center of a death investigation that began on the evening of July 26, 2026, as Bernard Rombalski Jr., 52, of rural Merrillan.
According to investigators, information gathered during the investigation indicates that foul play is not suspected, and officials say there is no danger to the community.
The Sheriff’s Office has been in contact with Mr. Rombalski’s family and is asking the public and media to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
