The Wisconsin Department of Revenue will open the second application period for its Innovation Grant Program on October 1st.
The program helps local governments and tribal nations transfer certain services or duties to other governments, nonprofit organizations or private entities.
The first round provided 72 million dollars to support 35 service transfers, with 81 community impacts.
Eligible services include public safety, fire protection, courts and jails, public works, administration, public health, housing and zoning, parks and recreation, and economic development.
For the second round, 228 million dollars is available. Each county, municipality or tribal nation can receive up to 10 million dollars annually, distributed over a maximum of four annual payments.
